Description

OR Tech / Surgical Tech

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
  • Based at Grant Bone and Joint Center
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift: 4x10s, 6:15 AM–4:45 PM
  • No weekends or holidays
  • 1–2 call shifts per week, from end of shift to 9:00 PM
  • May float to the main OR if census drops

Role Focus

  • Must be an ortho and total joint expert
  • Intraoperative OR surgical tech role
  • Handles orthopedics, sports medicine, and total joint cases
  • Must be able to scrub total joints and other orthopedic cases, including spines and foot and ankle surgery
  • Large hospital experience required

Required Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience as a surgical tech in an ortho-heavy setting
  • BLS certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist school, equivalent military training, or 20+ years of Surgery Tech experience

Preferred

  • Non-certified techs will be considered

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced unit
  • Patient census: 20–40 cases per day
  • ASA levels 1–4
  • Scrub/patient ratio: 1:1
  • Green scrubs provided daily by the department
