Med Tele RN
Role
Med Tele RN
Location
Iron Mountain, Michigan
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Weekend rotation: every other weekend, Friday/Saturday/Sunday
- Holidays: 2 of 3 holidays
- Call/standby may be required
- Self-scheduling is attempted when possible, but block scheduling is not guaranteed
Unit Details
- 24 inpatient beds
- May have up to 10 observation/day surgery patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 5:1 on day shift, 6:1 at 11pm
- Team nursing with LPNs: 2:7 ratios
- Charge nurse works with an assignment
- Nurse aides are on the unit
- Hospitalist/intensivist coverage is in house until 6pm daily, then telemedicine is used
- RT is available 24/7
- Tele/monitoring is done in ICU daily, with basic tele arrhythmia knowledge expected
- Limited resources onsite, including no IV team
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of MS/MS-tele experience
- Acute care experience
- BLS
- Must be comfortable with IV starts
- Must be able to float to like units and patients
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS
- Experience or knowledge of TURPS-CBI
- Critical Access experience
- Trauma Level 3 or 4 experience
Clinical Notes
- Common diagnoses include NHP, cellulitis, UTI, COPD, GU, pacemaker, sepsis, nursing home placements, and day surgical cases such as ortho hips and knees, choles, appys, and TURPS-CBI
- Small pediatric population is not typically assigned unless prior experience or no other options
- RT equipment includes CPAP
Additional Notes
- Local candidates within 80 miles are subject to reduced client rates
- If the clinician has ever worked for Marshfield, that must be noted in the submission, and any prior employment must have ended at least 6 months before submission
- Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
- Orientation includes computer education on day 1, shadowing for the rest of day 1, a 12-hour orientation shift on day 2, and working independently on day 3
