Description
RN Medical Center
Overview
- Contract role
- Outpatient infusion/oncology unit inside a same day surgery area
- 5 chairs
- Adults only
- 205-bed facility with a Level II NICU and no trauma designation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of infusion experience
- Infusion experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Oncology experience
- BLS
- ONS/ONCC
- Peripheral IV insertion skills
- Port-a-Cath access skills
- PICC line access skills
- Blood drawing from ports for lab collection
Preferred
- First-time traveler accepted, but someone with prior travel experience is preferred
- EPIC preferred but not required
Patient Population / Clinical Work
- Oncology patients
- Long-term IVABX
- Injections
- Blood and platelet infusions
Floating
- Floats to all three infusion centers
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 0800-1630
- No weekend rotation
- No on-call
- Closed on major holidays
- Clinic closes at 1530, but may stay longer to finish infusions
Orientation
- General orientation
- One shift of orientation on the unit to learn the flow
Additional Details
- Around 10 patients per day through the department
- Navy scrubs
