Description
ICU RN
Overview
- ICU RN in Peru, Illinois
- 13-week contract
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
Unit Details
- ICU has 8 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with possible assignment up to 3 patients depending on acuity and overflow
- Floating may include Medical Surgical in Peru and Ottawa
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Last four digits of SSN
- Clinician’s middle initial
- Requested time off
- Negative drug screen for all panels
- Experience with central line care, arterial lines, bedside brochoscopy, and cardiac arrest AHA guidelines
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
Clinical Responsibilities
- Titrate drips
- Common titratable or set-rate drips include cardizem, propofol, amiodarone, norepinephrine, and presadex
Unit Environment
- No nurse aides on the unit
- Hospitalists are in house 24/7, with nocturnist coverage and critical care physicians from 7am-7pm
- RT is in the ICU 24/7
- Vent, bipap, cpap, and heated hi flow are used
- No tele on this unit
Orientation
- 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
Additional Notes
- Local rate applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles
- OSF call off policy allows the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
- 12 non-billable orientation hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Solid color scrubs or OSF attire required, and dress code policy must be maintained
