Schedule: 11:00PM-7:00AM EST (Night Shift)
Location: Clifton NJ 07012
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 14 Week/s
Pay Range: $30.00 to $40.00/hour*
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle and process laboratory specimens.
- Perform clinical laboratory testing according to SOPs.
- Analyze specimens and review/release patient results.
- Perform and document QC/QA activities.
- Perform instrument calibration and maintenance.
- Identify testing issues and troubleshoot or escalate them to the supervisor.
- Document corrective actions.
- Report STAT and critical results according to laboratory procedures.
- Maintain accurate testing and patient records.
- Monitor reagent/test-kit receipt dates, expiration dates, and opening dates.
- Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Participate in training, educational meetings, and safety programs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication.
Education
- BS in Medical Technology preferred, OR
- BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, OR
- Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
- Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 may also qualify.
- Foreign-educated candidates require a detailed IERF credential evaluation.
- U.S.-educated candidates require a detailed original transcript.
Certification
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- Candidate should be certified or eligible for national certification.
- State/national licensure required where applicable.
Experience
- 1+ year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- For BS/BA Chemistry or Biology candidates, minimum 1 year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience is required.
