Description

MS/Tele

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Lafayette, Louisiana
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Unit can accommodate first-time travelers with 2 years of experience
  • May be pulled to all other inpatient units
  • No guarantee of specific scheduling requests, including block scheduling
  • Backfill role

Patient Population / Unit Focus

  • Chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, PNA, HTN, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, syncope
  • Potential med-surg overflow, including GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, COVID+
  • Pre/post cath lab, PPM/AICD, ablations, vascular surgeries such as CEAs and fem-pops
  • Titration of drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin
  • Sheath pulling at bedside

Special Equipment

  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Chest tubes
  • PCAs
  • Epidurals
  • Wound vacs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Louisiana
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Pre/Post Cath Lab experience
