Description
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
- 13-week contract
- Nights, 12-hour shifts: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week; may accept 48-hour contracts upon request
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Stepdown (1 year of experience)
- Stepdown experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- Trauma level II experience
- Experience with Epic
- Telemetry and 12-lead EKG interpretation
- Initiate and titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.)
Preferred
- Stable home vents
- PleurX drain/pericardial drains
- Lumber drains
- VP shunts
- Narcan drips
Schedule and Float
- Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
- Every other holiday
- First to float within skillset
- May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
- Mid-shift float within the same campus is possible
Unit Details
- 16-bed Step Down Unit
- Ratios: Days 1:3-4; Nights 1:3-4; 1:5 for M/S
- CN takes 1:2 patient assignment
Additional Notes
- No local candidates within 40 miles
- Clinical interview
- Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires
- Navy blue scrubs
- COVID-19 vaccine not required, subject to change
