Rad Tech - Rad Gen
Overview
- Radiologic Technologist role in Urbana, Illinois.
- 13-week assignment.
- Day shift: Tuesday through Friday, 8:00a–6:30p.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois.
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
- 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience.
- IEMA Radiography License.
- ARRT (R).
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- Associate's degree in a related field or certificate in radiologic technology.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic general radiological procedures.
- Acquire and process patient exams according to department protocols and manufacturer or accrediting-body guidelines.
- Review cases with the radiologist when appropriate.
- Review labs, patient history, radiology orders, and supporting clinical data to ensure correct exam selection and medical necessity.
- Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast when appropriate, including via existing IV line or veni-puncture.
- Screen for pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
- Recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions.
- Critique positioning, technical factors, and alignment to maintain imaging quality standards.
- Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary history for Radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and work area orderliness.
- Report malfunctions, service needs, and safety events, including near misses.
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed.
- May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
- May assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed for them.
