Echo Tech
Overview
- Location: Normal, Illinois
- Schedule: Days, Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM
- Hours: 40 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Role Summary
- The Echo Technologist performs technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory.
- The role includes full-range cardiac diagnostic testing and assisting physicians and sonographers with echocardiographic exams.
Required Qualifications
- Echo Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of experience as an Echo Technologist
- Associate's degree in sonography
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures following departmental guidelines.
- Demonstrate acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
- Review patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Document studies and charges in Epic and complete preliminary information in Xcelera system for physician reading.
- Administer contrast when needed and not contraindicated.
- Perform all forms of Echo testing, including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine stress, Echoes, Pediatric echoes, and Tranesophageal echoes.
- Cross-train to other divisions of CV Services.
- Participate in call rotation during the week and on weekends.
