Description

RN PACU

Overview

  • Travel assignment in Dublin, Georgia.
  • Unit: Same Day Surgery.
  • 14 beds.
  • Schedule: 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM with on-call.
  • Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.
  • Float scope: within Surgical Services PRN, otherwise per facility policy.
  • Documentation system: Meditech.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year.
  • PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience).
  • PALS.
  • ACLS.
  • BLS.
  • Pre-operative and post-operative experience.
  • Preoperative experience.

Preferred / Additional Training

  • Pediatric and Neuro Post-Operative competency set to be completed at facility/on-base training.

Clinical Details

  • Patient ratios: 2-3:1 for post-op and 1-2:1 for pre-op, based on acuity.
  • Unit staffing includes 1 full-time PCT.
  • Procedures performed on the unit include IV start, basic IV infusions, foley insertion, and EKG.
  • Patient experience requirement: AIDET.
  • Level 3 Trauma Center.
  • Equipment includes bladder scanner, vein finder, and EKG machine.
