Overview

  • Location: Danville, Illinois
  • Shift: Day
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in Illinois
  • Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • IEMA Radiography
  • ARRT (R)
  • ARRT (Mammography)
  • Associate's degree in a related field or Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology
  • Invasive procedures

Role Summary

  • Performs routine and complex breast imaging procedures and assigned invasive procedures.
  • Reviews radiology orders, patient history, and supporting clinical data to confirm medical necessity and complete exams accurately.
  • Screens patients for pregnancy when applicable and takes appropriate action for pregnancy testing.
  • Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate.
  • Maintains imaging equipment and the work area, including supply inventories and orderliness.
  • Recognizes malfunctions and service needs and reports them promptly.
  • Ensures patient, visitor, and environmental safety.
  • Uses PACS and other digital imaging and reporting systems.
  • Assists in instruction of students and new staff.
  • May perform duties of Breast Imaging Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
  • May assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
  • May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department if licensed to do so.
