Description

EP Technologist

Overview

  • Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
  • Department: EP Tech
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Days
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Schedule: 4 ten-hour days per week plus call; may also consider 5 eight-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • 2 years cath lab experience
  • IABP experience

Unit Details

  • 7 rooms total: 4 Cath Lab/EP and 3 IR
  • Average volume: 20+ cases per day across all rooms
  • Common EP cases include ablations, EP studies with programmed stimulation, pacemaker and ICD placements, and loop recorder implants

Responsibilities

  • Verify orders and consent
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments
  • Provide patient education
  • Set up the room
  • Circulate cases
  • Administer moderate sedation and assist anesthesia providers
  • Monitor hemodynamics continuously
  • Document care
  • Coordinate with the team

Call and Scheduling

  • Weeknight and weekend call rotation
  • Call frequency: about once every 3 weekdays and once every 3 weekends
  • Holiday call may be required
  • Call response time: 30 minutes

Floating

  • No floating requirements

Orientation

  • Usually 2 to 3 full days of training/shadowing
  • Buddy call is included
  • No call the first week; second week on call with a buddy, then independently

Additional Notes

  • Previous employees from this facility are not accepted
  • Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
  • Local candidates within 80 miles are subject to reduced client rates
  • Provided scrubs; own scrub caps may be worn
