Description

RN - Med Surg

Overview

  • Travel RN role in a Rehab Unit / (617)
  • 4th floor, Acute Rehab
  • 27 beds
  • 36 hours per week
  • 7A - 7P shift
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of Rehabilitation experience
  • Rehabilitation experience within the last year
  • Med Surg experience
  • BLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in rehab nursing or orthopedic
  • Experience in Neuro or trauma nursing

Unit Details

  • Staffed by RNs, PCTs, nurse externs, social workers, and patient coordinators
  • Patient ratio: 5:1
  • Equipment includes iMobile on iPhones, gait belts, bed alarms, IV pumps, wound vacs, Hoyer lifts, and Welch-Allyn vitals machines
  • EMR: Meditech

Common Unit Procedures

  • Med pass, safe ambulation and toileting, high-quality charting, central line dressing changes
  • Catheter care and peri-care, wound care and wet to dry dressing changes, wound vac management, blood administration, pain and comfort management
  • Neuro checks, stroke-rehabilitation cares, vital signs, blood sugar checks, and telemetry

  • The unit is in a Level 1 trauma center and works closely with acute care areas
  • The unit has recently increased from 21 to 27 beds
