Description
Mental Health Clinician - Correctional Health Services
Location: East Elmhurst, New York
Job Description
- Provide quality mental health care to incarcerated adult men under supervision.
- Conduct mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, assessments, and follow-up care.
- Determine and coordinate patient disposition for appropriate levels of mental health care.
- Collaborate with Reentry Social Workers for discharge planning.
- Complete required statistical reports and documentation.
- Work with the Department of Correction to ensure patient access, proper housing, and treatment disposition.
- Coordinate patient care with other institutional programs.
- Develop and lead group treatment sessions on mental health observation units and other assigned units.
- Participate in clinical supervision weekly.
- Attend mental health and medical rounds as assigned.
- Participate in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving or considered for mental health treatment.
- May conduct psychological testing as assigned.
- May supervise social work interns or student volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
