Description

Job Opportunity: RN - CMH Admit/Discharge Unit (7P)

Location: Peoria, Illinois
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, you will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in providing and managing patient care through the nursing process. Responsibilities include rapid assessment and interpretation of complex patient data, making evidence-based decisions under pressure, and managing both acute and chronic conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient status through interviews, observation, and physical assessments.
  • Develop individualized care plans collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Implement appropriate interventions to achieve expected patient outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate and document patient progress throughout the shift.
  • Modify care plans as needed based on patient condition changes.
  • Complete required documentation including patient charts and event reports.
  • Obtain lab specimens and perform bedside lab testing with quality control per provider orders and hospital policies.
  • Adapt teaching strategies based on patient readiness, comprehension, and cultural/age/gender/developmental factors.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to hospital policies and National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Utilize patient education resources effectively.
  • Provide care consistent with standards, evidence-based practices, and quality initiatives.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and unit-based councils.
  • Respond promptly to patient and family needs and requests.

Required Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
