Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform mammography examinations in compliance with ACR requirements.
- Assist with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures.
- Conduct diagnostic and screening mammographic exams on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients professionally and efficiently.
- Perform mammographic imaging for breast needle localization and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
- Assist in ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Provide immobilization devices and select appropriate technical factors and equipment for procedures.
- Accurately identify and label patient films.
- Develop exposed x-ray films using processing methods.
- Complete patient requisitions with required details.
- Assist with quality control procedures and documentation as delegated.
- Provide breast self-exam (BSE) instruction and patient education, including pre- and post-procedure instructions.
- Prepare cases for imaging, including chart and films.
- Compile statistics related to patient follow-ups, breast localizations, biopsies, and ultrasound exams.
- Document quality control and assurance procedures in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations.
- Record pertinent patient information in the Breast Center chart.
- Adapt care to meet the specific needs of the patient population, considering age, culture, language, and disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers at appropriate developmental and educational levels.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
Certifications & Licensure
- ARRT certification required.
- Must obtain mammography certification within the first 3 months of employment.
- Active Diagnostic Radiography License required.
