Pharmacist Position - Johnson City, New York

Job Summary

Ensure the correct medication is administered to patients, including verifying clinical appropriateness and proper product delivery.

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret and clarify orders/prescriptions from physicians and authorized practitioners; intervene when clinically appropriate.
• Ensure orders/prescriptions comply with professional standards, state and federal laws, and departmental policies.
• Communicate with patients for prescription counseling and educational activities as required by law.
• Maintain accurate controlled substance documentation per pharmacy department and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee and supervise technical staff during distributive activities.
• Maintain general knowledge of order/prescription processing.
• Prepare, supervise, and check the preparation of compounded products.
• Prepare and execute pharmacy-related documents and reports to meet regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education

• Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) OR Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or hold a New York State internship permit.

Preferred Experience

• One (1) year of experience as a pharmacist.
