Job Opportunity: RN - Triage Nurse

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Job Summary

• Make nursing decisions in uncertain conditions using broad knowledge and recognize life-threatening emergencies.
• Perform direct patient assessment and evaluation using systematic, comprehensive tools and protocols.
• Prioritize patient acuity and urgency for medical or crisis intervention.
• Use excellent interviewing, active listening, and documentation skills.
• Promote health prevention and wellness; provide patient education.
• Develop collaborative plans of care with patients and caregivers.
• Implement nursing interventions based on care plans and protocols.
• Coordinate nursing care with healthcare team members to meet patient needs and achieve outcomes.
• Initiate age- and culturally-appropriate measures.
• Collaborate, consult, or make referrals as needed.
• Respond appropriately to emergent situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members both verbally and in writing.
• Evaluate patient responses to interventions and modify care plans accordingly.
• Facilitate continuity of care through interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of clinical RN experience with strong assessment and visualization skills.
• Ability to function at the highest level within scope of practice.
• Experience in patient education and proactive disease management.
• Excellent assessment and care coordination skills.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Proficient keyboarding and computer skills.

Education Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

• Current Minnesota RN License.
• BLS certification or obtain certification within orientation period.

This role requires a highly skilled RN capable of independent decision-making, patient assessment, and coordination within a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a triage setting.
