Job Opportunity: Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.
Essential Duties
- Participate in identifying and meeting own learning needs; attend education programs.
- Use patient education materials relevant to pediatric patients with assistance.
- Assess readiness to learn and developmental level of patients and families.
- Identify expected patient outcomes and participate in care plan revisions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care.
- Communicate relevant information to ensure continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in caring for patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Follow healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
- Consult appropriate resources timely for complex care issues or discharge planning.
- Develop professional growth goals with assistance and participate in unit goals and performance improvement.
- Use effective communication systems and promote cost-effective care.
- Provide feedback to co-workers and promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Recognize and prioritize patient care needs from complex data.
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs; build relationships with families to support advocacy.
- Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans, addressing cultural and ethnic considerations.
- Stay informed on relevant research and contribute ideas for practice improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (highest requirement found).
- Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Provider (AHA or ARC).
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
Prior Travel Experience
- Not specified / not required.
This position is ideal for a pediatric OR nurse with at least one year of nursing experience, licensed in North Carolina, seeking a 13-week clinical nursing contract.
