Location: Normal, Illinois

Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to support and grow the IR program. Responsibilities include assisting Radiology Technologist staff in becoming competent in Interventional Radiology procedures, working with IR staff in ultrasound and CT, and helping refine processes and workflows related to IR procedures. No call required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contrast material via existing IV line as requested by physicians
- Anticipate setup and needs for invasive procedures
- Assist with inventory and supplies
- Verify patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position
- Compile clinical information related to labs and pathology
- Administer medication within scope of practice
- Document procedures accurately and completely
- Explain procedures to patients and provide comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality
- Perform all essential functions of an Invasive Lab Radiologic Technologist
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Operate imaging and related equipment; perform basic troubleshooting
- Function as scrub and preceptor during interventional radiology procedures
- Maintain sterile field during procedures
- Administer and withhold contrast and treatment as appropriate
- Assess patients for allergies
- Assist physicians during interventional procedures
Required Skills & Experience
- Extensive Interventional Radiology (IR) experience required
- Experience as a preceptor for IR Technologists
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures
- Effective communication skills, ability to follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Manual dexterity to handle small supplies
Education & Certifications
- Required Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology
- Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Radiography License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Radiography (R) (ARRT)
