Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardio-Pulmonary Medical/Surgical

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Job Description

Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the unit and scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to cardio-pulmonary medical/surgical nursing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures as needed.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue appropriate solutions.
Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Collaborate with patients and families to identify goals of care and maintain care plans.
Administer medications and evaluate their effects.
Prepare patients for procedures, manage pain, perform IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
Discharge patients with instructions for safe transition from hospital.
Document all care using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Participate in team huddles and ensure basic patient care (turning, toileting, etc.) meets standards.
Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up.
Manage conflict and maintain professional communication with all team members.

Requirements

Experience

Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience in the specialty.

Education

Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certifications & Licensure

Illinois State RN License in good standing
BLS (American Heart Association)
ACLS (American Heart Association)

Additional Notes
