Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical-Allied-Travel)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Position Overview

• Assist the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to ensure an optimal peri-operative experience.
• Requires knowledge of anatomy, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and sterile technique.

Required Experience & Skills

• Competency in multiple surgical areas including Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular.
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique, surgical procedure orientation, and operation/care of surgical equipment.
• Ability to maintain patient and staff safety standards.
• Must be capable of rapid, accurate reactions and have a strong concern for quality patient care.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills across various personnel levels.
• Physical demands include standing and walking for most of the work schedule, moderate to heavy lifting, and exposure to cuts, burns, infections, biohazardous chemicals, and x-rays.

Education & Certification

• Graduate of an accredited or hospital-approved Surgical Technician program.
• Certification preferred.
• Must maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional specialty certifications or training may be required depending on the work area.

Experience Requirements

• Experience is fulfilled through the educational process and documented skill checklists maintained individually.
• No explicit years of experience required beyond education and competency documentation.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not specified or required.
