Cardiac Cath Specialist - Goldsboro, North Carolina

Job Summary

Assist physicians with obtaining digital radiographic images of the heart, peripheral vessels, and other required structures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Control radiographic equipment to acquire quality images.
  • Adjust radiographic table and x-ray parameters for cardiac and peripheral imaging.
  • Practice radiation safety using distance and protective attire.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hemodynamics, diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral procedures, including devices and protocols.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and equipment daily; perform quality control checks.
  • Manage inventory and supplies according to regulations.
  • Document patient data, procedure details, and complications accurately.
  • Provide pre-, during, and post-procedure patient care, maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Prepare lines and devices for injectable fluids; inject drugs under physician supervision; insert IVs.
  • Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment and devices (IVUS, Combo Map, ICE, HeartLab, etc.).
  • May train and assign work to other staff.
  • Prioritize tasks to ensure efficient patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of laboratory data and report variances to physicians.

Required Education

One of the following:

  • Graduation from a Radiologic Science program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health and Accreditation.
  • Graduation from a special procedures program.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Completion of a cardiac catheterization training course (transcripts required).

Required Certifications & Licensure

One of the following:

  • Certified in Radiation Therapy or Radiology through ARRT.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification through CCI.

Experience Requirements

  • No specific years of specialty experience explicitly required.
  • No mention of prior travel experience required.
