Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Travel Position

Location: Rochester, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical-Allied)
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide care to surgical patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse and in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Primarily perform in the surgical scrub role, preparing, selecting, and maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Utilize knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation, and technology as a member of the surgical team.
• Float to a variety of surgical specialties as needed to provide patient care.

Required Skills & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program OR graduate of an unaccredited program with at least 1 year of surgical tech experience within the last 5 years in an applicable care setting.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the perioperative setting.
• Strong communication skills with a variety of people in a direct, empathetic, and articulate manner.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 2 years of successful surgical technologist experience in acute care, perioperative, or surgical settings within the last 5 years.
• Comprehensive understanding of surgical processes and procedures.

Required Education

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program OR graduate of an unaccredited program with 1 year of relevant experience.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA.
