Travel RN - ICU Position

Location: Summit, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Clinical Nursing)

Job Overview

This role requires providing competent and appropriate nursing care in an ICU setting, demonstrating strong assessment, clinical, documentation, and patient education skills. The nurse will work collaboratively with the care team to ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver direct patient care and demonstrate competent clinical skills, including emergency procedures and equipment use.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
• Uphold professional practice standards and adhere to policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including patient identification and safe transfer techniques.
• Understand and manage conditions, procedures, and equipment specific to surgical patients and anesthesia care.
• Provide pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Requirements

• Specialty: ICU Nursing
• Required Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Contract Length

• 8 weeks

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards
