Respiratory Therapist - Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Travel Position)

Job Summary

• Perform respiratory care and pulmonary diagnostic procedures for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities.
• Provide therapeutic treatment and diagnostic testing using medical gases, equipment, environmental control systems, humidification, and aerosols.
• Administer medications related to the cardiopulmonary system.
• Manage ventilatory support and life support systems.
• Perform bronchopulmonary clearance and breathing exercises.
• Educate patients and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Maintain natural and artificial airways.
• Work in both critical care and non-critical care areas, treating patients of all ages.

Contract Length

• 14 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care (higher value between 1 year clinical experience and 2 years preferred is used).

Education Requirements

• Required: Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care.

Certifications & Licensure

• Current State of Wisconsin License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NRP certification required for certain hospital locations (not applicable here).

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC).
