MRI Technologist - Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Summary
- Verify patient identification and document pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
- Use professional manners and methods to assist patients and family members, ensuring patient understanding and safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of MRI technology and cross-sectional human anatomy.
- Operate MRI scanners competently, including automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers.
- Maintain active ARRT status by accruing continuing education credits as needed.
- Interpret protocols, select appropriate scanning parameters, and assist in troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues.
- Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients following protocols and safety procedures, including checking lab values.
- Manage image transfer processes, including PACS, EMR, EPIC, and QC stations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure all charge information and patient demographic data are accurate.
- Perform tasks efficiently, maintain a clean and orderly work environment, and document incidents for quality improvement.
- Precept new employees and students.
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior education, training, and experience sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
Education Requirements
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Certifications & Licensure
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
- Registry-eligible candidates must provide a diploma from an accredited program.
- Must obtain advanced MR certification within one year of employment.
- Must maintain ARRT registry status and continuing education annually.
- Must maintain current competency in Healthcare Provider (HCP) Basic Life Support (BLS).
