Job Opportunity: RN - Progressive Care/Telemetry (Travel)

Job Description

• Collect and document comprehensive health history and admission assessments for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Perform ongoing reassessment of patients’ developmental, biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge needs.
• Develop and update individualized, age-appropriate plans of care involving patients and families, focusing on safety, education, and healing.
• Recognize and document nursing interventions and patient outcomes, delegating care responsibilities as appropriate.
• Provide patient care prioritizing interdisciplinary coordination.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and legible documentation of patient responses to interventions, medications, treatments, and education.
• Assess patient and family comprehension and provide tailored teaching using appropriate tools; document all education provided.
• Initiate and implement discharge planning from admission through hospital stay, ensuring safe and timely discharge.
• Transcribe and sign off on orders accurately and promptly, clarifying unclear orders before implementation.
• Apply telemetry leads correctly, coordinate with telemetry technicians on alarm settings, interpret and document telemetry strips, and keep physicians informed.
• Initiate chest pain protocols and manage patients on high-risk intravenous cardiac drugs.
• Assist with elective cardioversion as needed.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey RN License
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse) preferred

Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in Cardiac/Telemetry nursing
• 1-2 years of experience in Acute Care
• Basic dysrhythmia experience required

Education

• BSN preferred or currently enrolled in a BSN program

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required for this position
