Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied - Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist
• Operate floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines
• Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases
• Critical thinking during neuro-interventional and complex cases to assist proceduralist
• Operate power injection of iodinated contrast media device during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures; set up procedural trays
• Collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons
• Document procedures in electronic medical records and send images to PACS system
• Manage groin post-intervention care
• Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist
• Must have New Jersey radiographic licensure
• Radiographic licensure required to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Associate degree OR completion of an accredited radiographic program

Certifications & Licensure

• Current Radiography (R) certification with ARRT
• NJ radiographic licensure
• BLS certification from an approved American Heart Association or equivalent with skill demonstration in basic life support

Notes

• This role is similar to a Cardiovascular Technologist but requires radiographic licensure
• Strong communication skills using closed loop communication are essential
