Job Opportunity: RN - PACU (Travel)

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Nursing (Clinical Nursing - Travel)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Demonstrate professional responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Provide individualized care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Assess patient understanding and reactions to procedures and instructions.
• Participate actively in perioperative team responsibilities, prioritizing patient care needs.
• Conduct pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Requirements

• Specialty: RN with PACU experience
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year PACU or Critical Care experience
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • RN License (Required)
  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS (Required)
  • PALS (Required)
  • CCRN or CPAN (Preferred)
• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
