Job Opportunity: Sonographer Multi Registry – General
Location: West Bend, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Allied Health Clinical
Job Summary
- Perform sonographic examinations across all ultrasound areas including OB/GYN, Abdominal, Small Parts, Breast, Vascular, OR, and Procedure following ACR guidelines and department policies.
- Provide 24/7 ultrasound service coverage including rotating Saturdays, holidays, and call shifts.
- Produce high-quality images, properly labeled and identified.
- Recognize normal anatomy, physiology, variations, and pathology; adjust imaging accordingly.
- Analyze physician orders and patient history to ensure exam appropriateness.
- Collaborate with other departments (nursing, radiology, scheduling) for exam coordination.
- Work variable shifts, weekends, and emergent call coverage as scheduled.
- Use EPIC/Radiant and PACS information systems proficiently.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, perform minor repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance.
- Prepare patients for exams using clear communication and AIDET technique.
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning before and after imaging.
- Support radiologists and medical staff during interventional, diagnostic, and therapeutic ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
- Collect, verify, document, and hand off lab specimens accurately.
- Communicate effectively to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assist with phone answering, patient scheduling, inpatient coordination, and instruction to staff and patients.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) certification.
- Experience and proficiency in OB/GYN (Obstetrics and Gynecology) sonography.
- Experience and proficiency in Vascular sonography.
- Experience working with Epic information systems.
