Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Watonga, Oklahoma

Job Description

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including executing provider orders, medication administration, and assisting in patient examinations and treatments.
• Apply nursing and supervisory techniques in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Attend sick calls with physicians, prepare inmates/residents for examination, and manage medication dispensing and documentation.
• Assess new or ill/injured inmates/residents and refer to emergency or appropriate healthcare facilities as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures and coordinate with providers for treatment orders.
• Supervise licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff.
• Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and ensure early releases when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records.
• Assist with medical file reviews, pharmacy audits, and compliance with controlled substance laws.
• Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups.
• Participate in accreditation processes and prepare safety and incident reports.
• Escort and coordinate inmate/resident movement for medical treatment.
• Conduct searches for contraband and ensure security in confined areas, including working rotating shifts.
• Perform rescue functions during emergencies, including basic emergency medical aid and evacuation.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a degree or diploma in nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Oklahoma.
• Minimum 1 year of professional nursing experience (preferred).
• Valid driver's license required.
