Description

Job Opportunity: EEG Technologist 1 - Inpatient

Location: Urbana, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Perform all types of neurodiagnostic tests, including bedside, electrical cerebral silence, and standard lab EEGs.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment using appropriate solutions following infection control policies.
  • Document data accurately in patient charts and lab files.
  • Explain tests and procedures to patients to obtain optimal results.
  • Notify Neuroscience physician for grossly abnormal EEG tracings.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, providing age-appropriate instructions and explanations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate repair services as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited EEG program (new graduates welcome) OR
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on EEG/EMU experience.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Certification from the American Board of Registration of EEG/EP Technologists (ABRET).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Adaptability to accept and implement changes.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills essential for EEG technology.

Additional Information

  • No prior travel experience required.
  • Preferred skills and certifications are not specified.
