Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include:

• Performing duties specific to the unit’s scope of service
• Implementing nursing procedures and theories related to behavioral health
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
• Completing initial patient assessments and developing plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implementing and modifying plans of care through continuous evaluation
• Ensuring patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards
• Communicating effectively with colleagues and providing constructive feedback
• Identifying personal learning needs and pursuing professional development
• Meeting all departmental competency requirements

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant nursing experience

Education

• Required: ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing)
• Preferred: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Certifications & Licensure

• Illinois State RN License in good standing
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI)

Additional Information

• Travelers will be responsible for unit keys, which must be returned at the end of the assignment. Failure to return keys within 30 days may result in a fee.
