Job Opportunity: EEG Tech I
Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform a variety of highly technical, non-invasive vascular and/or cardiology procedures and prepare preliminary test interpretations as ordered by a physician under established standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive vascular and/or cardiology procedures as ordered by a physician.
- Calculate preliminary test interpretations following department guidelines.
- Prepare patients for prescribed tests by obtaining medical history and explaining procedures to obtain consent.
- Alert manager, physician, or nursing staff regarding any acute patient abnormalities.
- Maintain, calibrate, and perform quality control on equipment according to established criteria.
- Maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) skills.
- Assist in orientation and training of new staff.
- Perform routine clerical and related duties as required.
- Communicate daily with employees, patients/families, and physicians regarding scheduling, procedures, and test results.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 1 to 2 years as a non-invasive echocardiographic or vascular technician (highest required experience).
- Education: High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Additional Experience: Six months or more working in a patient care environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program.
