Description

Job Opportunity: RN UP - Cardio-Pulmonary Medical/Surgical

Job Summary

Provide nursing care specific to the cardio-pulmonary medical/surgical unit.
Perform initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
Implement and modify nursing interventions based on patient evaluations.
Manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
Administer medications, perform IV venipuncture, blood administration, and monitor labs.
Prepare patients for procedures and manage pain.
Discharge patients with appropriate instructions for safe transition.
Document all care accurately using the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in team huddles and ensure effective communication.
Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up and ensure basic patient care needs are met.
Maintain patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
Engage in professional communication and conflict management within the healthcare team.
Support peer development through constructive feedback and knowledge sharing.

Contract Length

Approximately 15 weeks (103 days rounded to nearest week).

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Minimum 1 year of cardiology nursing experience within the last year
Experience in pulmonology nursing
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
