Job Opportunity: Registered Dietitian

Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Job Description

• Plan, direct, and implement nutrition interventions for patients based on assessment criteria.
• Provide age-appropriate care with awareness of growth, development, and patient status.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate hospital therapy and post-discharge care.
• Provide nutrition therapy and education to promote healthier lifestyles.
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to clinical standards.
• Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Display a positive and professional attitude with patients, families, and coworkers.
• Engage in ongoing self-education.
• Apply critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Counsel patients on nutrition issues.
• Visit patients as directed to improve patient satisfaction.
• Monitor and evaluate nutrition care effectiveness and quality; make adjustments as needed.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
• Complete consults and assignments by deadlines.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Successfully pass monthly chart audits.
• Accept constructive criticism positively.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nutrition, dietetics, or food service management meeting the educational requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Successful completion of the Dietitian/National Registration Examination required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
