Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - CPRH Ultrasound

Job Description

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound examinations, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results under the direction of a radiologist.
• Prepare patients for examinations and obtain accurate histories, explaining the rationale for procedures.
• Ensure accurate and complete ultrasound exams for patients of all ages following Medical Imaging guidelines, policies, and standards.
• Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures and capturing required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology.
• Assess abdominal arterial and venous systems using color imaging.
• Maintain working knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation, including hardware and software, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
• Assist radiologists with biopsies and set up sterile trays.
• Order labs and pathology tests under radiologist direction.
• Maintain quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement programs.
• Support Medical Imaging department functions to meet patient expectations and assist in training fellow technologists and students.
• Manage patient flow and ensure timely processing of images and paperwork for physician reporting.
• Maintain a professional and respectful work environment.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Associate's Degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or Certificate of completion of an Ultrasound/Sonography program
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
