Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - CPRH Ultrasound
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform routine and specialized ultrasound examinations, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results under the direction of a radiologist.
- Prepare patients for examinations and obtain accurate histories, explaining the rationale for procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete ultrasound exams for patients of all ages following Medical Imaging guidelines, policies, and standards.
- Exhibit competency in performing ultrasound procedures and capturing required views demonstrating appropriate anatomy and pathology.
- Assess abdominal arterial and venous systems using color imaging.
- Maintain working knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation, including hardware and software, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
- Assist radiologists with biopsies and set up sterile trays.
- Order labs and pathology tests under radiologist direction.
- Maintain quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement programs.
- Support Medical Imaging department functions to meet patient expectations and assist in training fellow technologists and students.
- Manage patient flow and ensure timely processing of images and paperwork for physician reporting.
- Maintain a professional and respectful work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Associate's Degree in Ultrasound/Sonography or Certificate of completion of an Ultrasound/Sonography program
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification
