Job Opportunity: Scrub Technician

Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: Approximately 12 weeks


Job Summary

Provide safe patient care by following established professional and hospital standards. Support the surgical team by maintaining asepsis and performing scrubbing duties during surgical procedures (not acting as a surgical assistant).


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist registered nurses in planning patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and perform scrubbing duties during surgeries.
  • Communicate patient information to appropriate personnel.
  • Account for all equipment and supplies used in patient care.
  • Serve as a clinical preceptor for scrubbing, following orientation guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the unit and proper care of surgical equipment.
  • Support teamwork and resolve problems within the department.
  • Consistently meet customer service quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Scrub Technician, with experience within the last year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
