Job Opportunity: Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist
Location: Johnson City, New York
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Neurointerventional Radiologic Technologist performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures under physician direction in Angio Interventional Radiology or Neuro IR services. Procedures include extra-cranial and intracranial angiography, vertebroplasty, spinal injections, myelograms, cisternograms, embolizations, cryoablations, coilings, and clot retrievals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for IR and neurointerventional procedures such as discograms, aspirations, therapeutic injections, angiography, and ablations.
- Assist in both sterile and non-sterile neurointerventional procedures including tumor, epistaxis, and spinal lesion embolization.
- Operate advanced imaging equipment following established guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety and proper safety standards.
- Instruct students and residents; perform preceptor duties as needed.
- Perform quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Assist in maintaining supply inventory for IR and neuro IR procedures.
- Review coding procedures for accurate billing of neuro IR and IR procedures.
- Stay current with new techniques and technology through continuing education.
- Maintain patient and hospital information confidentiality.
- Comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New York
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist) certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology
