Job Opportunity: RN Oncology Infusion Clinic - Adult
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Registered Nurse (Direct Care)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Under general supervision, provide nursing care to adult patients in an oncology infusion clinic setting. Care ranges from simple to complex health problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy drugs, PO and SC injections, and other medications as ordered by physicians.
- Consult with medical personnel and provide expert information about chemotherapy and side effects.
- Document patient responses to treatments and note changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during conscious sedation and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary.
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and communicate care plans to patients and families.
- Provide chemotherapy-related education to patients and families.
- Schedule patient follow-ups and coordinate care including referrals and phone triage.
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oklahoma
- Oncology nursing experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
- Infusion nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.
