Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (NICU/PICU)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension to 26 weeks)

Job Summary

Provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic support for hospital and outpatient patients requiring cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing, respiratory treatment, and/or ventilatory support. Must be flexible and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

Varied shifts; no guaranteed block scheduling
On call, weekends, and holidays required
Floating to other care areas within the facility and alternate locations within 20 miles may be required
Assignments may fluctuate to meet department staffing needs
Traveling in pairs does not guarantee same schedules or shifts

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience working with both adult and pediatric patients
At least 2 years of current experience initiating and managing high frequency oscillation and jet ventilation
Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Education

Associate’s degree or Diploma in Respiratory Care

Certifications & Licensure

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in New Mexico
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NRP certification
PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Epic EMR (training available on site)
