Description

Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Stepdown

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Unit Description

32-bed surgical step-down/progressive care unit focused on cardiothoracic surgery and interventional cardiology.
Patient populations include LVAD, innovative valve replacement, pectus excavatum, and post STEMI.
Nursing care involves management of cardiac arrhythmias, titration of multiple IV medications, and conscious sedation for cardioversions.
Nurses are ACLS certified, have completed ECG interpretation courses, and follow AACN Progressive Care Guidelines.
Specialty skills include chest tube removals, femoral arterial line removals, complex external pacing, ACT and iSTAT point of care testing.

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing (required)
BSN (preferred)

Licensure & Certifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Experience & Skills

Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
