Pharmacist - Travel Position

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Travel (Clinical Allied)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care.
• Identify and prevent potential drug-related problems; resolve actual drug-related problems.
• Perform duties as a registered pharmacist in a manner appropriate for patients aged 0 to adult.
• Ensure medication doses are appropriate based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system.
• Verify that patients receive the correct medications, minimizing dispensing errors.
• Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control in preparation of sterile products.
• Ensure technicians and other pharmacists adhere to aseptic technique and infection control standards.
• Complete annual re-certification with a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam.

Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 10-hour variable shifts
• Rotating weekends

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Texas (RPH) with a valid, unrestricted license
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Ph.D., or Pharm.D. degree
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year
• 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Clean room experience
