Occupational Therapist - HRHC Therapy

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in delivering professional services and acts as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor.
• Demonstrate safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk to self, staff, and patients.
• Design an appropriate plan of care integrating goals, treatments, outcomes, and discharge plans.
• Adjust care based on patient response and available evidence.
• Educate patients, family, caregivers, students, and other healthcare providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluate clinical findings to determine therapy diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Perform examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening results, and history.
• Screen patients to determine the effectiveness of and need for further therapy services.
• Use support personnel according to legal standards and ethical guidelines.
• Monitor care delivered by support personnel and provide regular feedback.
• Document evaluations and plans of care, including goals, treatment modifications, and patient responses.
• Complete annual education as assigned to comply with relevant program requirements (if applicable).
• Evaluate and treat patients; design and document appropriate care plans.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
