Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technician

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Allied Health Clinical Position
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Assist proceduralist during complex diagnostic and interventional vascular and neuro-interventional cases, scrubbing side by side with specialty proceduralist.
  • Operate floor and ceiling mounted fluoroscopic modality machines.
  • Identify, retrieve, and circulate complex products during interventional procedural cases.
  • Apply critical thinking during neuro-interventional and complex cases to assist proceduralist.
  • Operate power injection devices for iodinated contrast media during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Use strong closed-loop communication skills.
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention measures; set up procedural trays.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, radiologists, and vascular surgeons.
  • Document procedures in electronic medical records and manage image transmission to PACS systems.
  • Manage groin care post intervention.
  • Provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist
  • Current ARRT (R) certification
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • High School Diploma/GED or Associate degree

Additional Information

  • This role requires radiographic licensure to operate x-ray fluoroscopic modalities and is similar to a Cardiovascular Technologist role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain sterile technique is critical.
