Job Opportunity: Med-Surg RN

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per standard protocols, documenting accordingly.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
• Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system (training available on-site).

Note: Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is a job requirement.
