Job Opportunity: X-Ray Technician
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The X-Ray Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Responsibilities include preparing patients for radiological procedures, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and reduce anxiety.
- Prepare patients by positioning and adjusting immobilization devices and equipment.
- Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff using protective techniques and devices.
- Maintain quality and production of radiographs by following standards and processing images.
- Document patient care services and verify exam completion.
- Perform preventive maintenance on radiology equipment and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Manage radiology supplies inventory.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment following procedures and regulations.
- Keep professional knowledge current through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
- Complete yearly Age Specific Competency.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in New York (L.R.T).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an X-Ray Technologist (X-Ray Technician), including experience within the last year.
- Experience as a Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Technician.
