Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist

Location: Southfield, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, you will deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gas therapies to patients. Responsibilities include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients. You will maintain clinical expertise across various departmental assignments as needed. Effective communication with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other staff regarding patient care is essential. Accurate documentation of all patient care activities is required. You may also supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, orientees, externs, and students as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program (Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred)

Additional Information

• This position involves working in both Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
• Supervisory responsibilities may be assigned.
