Job Opportunity: CCC RN
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per standard protocols, documenting accordingly.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the episode of care.
- Provide clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 2 years current experience in a 12-plus bed cardiac critical care and/or intensive care unit.
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
- Ability to work as a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
- Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment; failure to pass will result in dismissal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with open heart surgery, LVAD, and balloon pump.
- EPIC electronic health record experience (training available on-site).
This position requires flexibility to float between departments and local sites within a 20-mile radius. Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
